Buenos Aires and Chile
Discussion
I went skiing in the Andes (can't remember the name of the place but I was on a bus from Santiago to Mendoza and decided to stop there) in the middle of June and it was awesome. Because of the altitude the powder is fantastic.
Obviously this advice is no good if you don't like skiing.
Mendoza was OK, but nothing spectacular (but then again this was at the end of three months trekking round south america so it would have to be amazing to stand out).
Go salsa/tango dancing. You will look like a fool, but it's amazing to watch everyone else.

BA is a great city.
Couple of things to note from my trip last November:
1. If you are catching internal flights (to Chile/other parts of Arg), then be careful to give yourself at least 3-4 hours between flights. Domestic and flights to other SA countries tend to be at BAs second airport (near the Pacha nightclub), this is at least 45 mins in a taxi away.
2. Most steak places are good in Argentina, but speak to the concierge at your hotel to recommend you a really decent one.
3. Taxis are dirt cheap all over town.
4. Go an see a Tango show, sounds cheesy but they are very professional, a bit like when a west end show tours in the UK (that kind of setup).
5. Food is cheaper than London, think North of England prices. Drinks are roughly the same price.
6. The people are really friendly and want to help you, you always feel safe in BA.
7. If you get time, take a flight up to Iguazu to see the falls! Breathaking!
