Hi my 991 build finished beginning of March and I was told then that delivery would of been about two weeks ago (as it had arrived at port in Germany)- now my OPC tells me that due to shipping delays the car may not be here until next week or the following. The say its the same story with 100's os cars in the uk atm. Anyone else experienced this delay? - Just would like to make sure im not been feed a line and they have cocked up somewhere, last car I had I am sure was built on a drunken Friday and probably the 13th lol

Yep, I seem to have a similar issue. Sitting on the port for the past week or so with little explanation.
Frustrating.

Early March build, car expected last week. Told by dealer that "additional quality checks taking place in Holland" have caused unexpected delay. Checks now complete but there's a backlog of cars to ship - some now in transit - but not mine. May get a delivery date next week.

My car was delayed by a couple of months, though not due to shipping. I called Porsche UK and was told, "it's none of your business why your car is delayed and it's not our place to ask the Germans where your car is, now would you kindly go away and wait patiently until it arrives, there's a good chap".

My immediate and overwhelming urge was to cancel the car, but the dealership worked hard to compensate for the problem and now it's here I am very glad I stayed on it. Worth the wait.

yep I got the same about quality checks - dealers hasn't offered much else in compensation though and as you said Porscahe UK dont treat you like someone who is buying an expensive car - I was hoping for the car for Easter weekend gggrrrr....

Some upset dealers I'm sure given the month-end targets.

I'm a mid-March completion which was expected on our shores a few days ago. Nothing. Also given the quality check line, though the OPCs appear to be in the dark also.

C'mon pre-Easter delivery!

Just had a Monday morning update: still on the dock in Germany. Not ideal.

Hope you guys are having better luck.

it's incredible that they can't ship across the Channel .. it's hardly a large body of water, and there are loads of ships plying that route!

The Germans haven't got a brilliant track record when it comes to crossing the Channel, though, have they.

This is totally unrelated, but an interesting story... had a guy out from one of these dent repair places a couple of years back to fix a parking dent on another car. Was very impressed with the work - anyway, on chatting, he let slip that they did a lot of work for Volvo at the docks near felixstowe/ipswich when cars new get imported, to iron out all the dings they get during transportation over here!!!

Please tell me that's not true or at least not applicable here!

Anyone getting any new updates on what's going on? My OPC tells me they're checking for updates but being told zero from the Mothership.

I have never seen any car-sized cotton-wool bags on the docks!
