Cleaned my sump to repaint and it's rotten and porous, can anyone help? Will a 2.9 one fit?
Thanks

OMG! My sump is not looking too clever either.eek I've got the JB Cold Weld on standby, but a lovely new sump would be more than welcome if anybody knows of a secret stash of 2.8 Cologne pans.

These might be worth a ring - they list the capri sump so should do a 2.8, but no prices are given

I did find another supplier in 2010 at This thread but their website has disappeared, perhaps Kev could take a Sunday drive there and see whether they still exist?

Think 2.9 will fit but not 100%
These guys had one from a 2.9 in January.

Also you could try this company based in Germany....but very expensive.

That hard to find?? Perhaps the £600 shocks to stop it banging on the roadsurface at every bump was worth it after all....

I must confess I haven't really started searching in earnest for a sump just yet, I've been busy working on more pressing items like the cracked exhaust manifold, engine mounts, chassis protection etc.

If a 2.9 sump is the same, it does widen the search area quite a bit.( Granada, Sierra ) If only a 2.8 will do, it may be worth contacting the guys on the Capri Club forum.

For me, the new, expensive German option is a last desperate recourse. I have only limited funds that would be better spent on petrol;)

If anyone knows of a decent second hand supplier, please let us know here,

Thanks guys,
Glen
