Anybody know what power connectors I'll need for my MacBook on United flights to LA and beyond, on a 777 and then a 767?

Try sticking the flight details in to Seat Guru, according to this page they list which of the 3 different types of power point the plane will have

Thanks for that idea, I've tried seatguru, I find it totally impenetrable, have just spent another 15 mins trying to use it to get a seat plan up for the United flights I'm on but no joy.

What's your flight number? I've been able to work it in the past perhaps I'll have more luck with it.

Depends on the plane and what class you're flying in, some 777/767 have power in economy, many don't. Find out what plane type you're on then check seat guru.

UA935 and 934 coming back. Planes are a 777 from LHR to LAX and then a 767 to HNL.
I've tried seatguru but I have to admit it's beaten me.

Its a very easy site to use.

What class are you? The 777 doesn't have power in cattle class. Only 1 of the 767 types have power in cattle, you want to be in the first 5 rows, that is if you are on that type of 767.

It looks like you'll be on a 777-200 with their Worldwide 2 configuration between LHR and LAX which has EmPower type power sockets in First and Business Class
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/United_Airlines/U...
and a 767-300 between LAx and Honalulu which also has EmPower sockets but only in First Class

I'm sure it is an easy site, but not for me! I promise I'm trying. Head full of other stuff and their site just tips me over the edge.
I'm in the Economy Plus sections, so it sounds like I'm out of luck.

Maybe I could hand my MBP to a stewardess and ask her to plug it in up front, as it were.

I wouldn't take Seat Guru for gospel either, i flew to the US with US Airways last year and it showed economy as having power sockets at every seat so purchased the relevant adapter only to find there were no power ports anywhere in economy
