Look's very nice and the same colour as mine. Good price. I'd say it's worth a look. If you can do an mot check and hpi check before you travel to veiw it may save you a wasted trip. I travelled 450 mile round trip only to discover the service history did not add up and it was clear the car had been clocked. If i'd spent 10 minutes doing an mot check before i went it would have shown this anyway and saved me 100 quid in fuel and a day off work.
Nice Car, just check the service history in the book and then phone a OPC to confirm on the computer system to see that it all tallies.
Check when the clutch was last done, otherwise probably due sometime soon.
Also on the Ad it lists "Forge motorsport boost hose kit, Forge motorsport recirculating boost valve kit" this might mean the car has been remapped in the past or might be currently because some people change the hoses for running extra boost or for just being better quality or it looks nice.
Theres nothing wrong with a remapped turbo(as long its a quality map) , its just peace of mind knowing the full history.
The another thing to check are the turbo actuators, they get mucky and seize/rust up a bit causing boost issues(I had this on my car at 75k miles, so I had the turbos off and refurbed) by the way my car has now done 93k(6yrs of ownership) and still pulling like a train.
I cant recommend 996T enough
Buy on condition not millage

On the face of it, looks like quite a nice car and seems like a fair price.
No sports seats which I would view as a negative (but that's fine for some people).
I see the dash is glowing red - probably just the seatbelt warning but worth asking what it is (just in case it's a more serious warning).
Of the extras listed: top tinted screen, electric tilt and slide sunroof, alcantara roof lining, BOSE sound were all standard for a 2002 UK car so don't be misled.
I wouldn't (and didn't when I was looking) put too much epmhasis on X50 - yes more power is always a good thing, but there's a bit more lag that goes with it (and it's not like the standard car is lacking in power/performance anyway).
Good luck with the hunt and keep us informed of your progress.

I can't believe how cheap these are, but with 997TT's @ 40k+ I guess the 996 was only going one way. Amazing value for money. That one looks nice from an enthusiast which is what I would want buying privately. But I think you should consider how badly you require your driving license!
