My wife has a 3 series and if you press the unlock button twice then open the door, the drivers door window winds down to the lowest position to ease entry in tight car park spaces.

Does anyone know if it's possible to lower the drivers door window with the remote key fob in a similar way?

I have a 2005 997.1 C2S

Thanks in advance

Difficult to wind up after though.
Works better on BM's.

I think its programable to a certain extent.. speak to your OPC

I guess you get annoyed with the rear boot not closing as normal?

Think that issue only affects Caymans.

Don't you just press and hold the unlock button?

That certainly works for me (on my Cayman).

Does not work for me, maybe it needs to be programmed to work in the same way?

Yeah, it needs to be programmed - though I think it's standard to include it, though some people turn it off as they find it's too sensitive and so they open their windows every time they sit down. Your OPC or Indy should be able to reset it for you I think.

I've never seen it as a feature on a Porsche, although as mentioned some will drop all/both windows if you hold the remote button down but this isn't nearly as useful as the BMW driver's-window-only feature.

Another very clever feature I saw on the new 3 series at Geneva last week was that if the car has keyless entry (an option?) when you walk up to the boot if the key's in your pocket the boot will open just by waving your foot under the bumper, brilliant if you're carrying something with two hands. What will they think of next? wink

Yup and if the car can't do it then it can be programmed.

They go down on my 996 but don't go up with the key fob.

They go up on my 996 by pressing twice (holding the second press) on the remote if the windows are fully down or slightly down when getting out of the door and closing the door then locking.

They also go down in the opposite way to above i.e. going to the locked car and unlocking with one press then holding the second press.

Mine works up and down on just press and hold, just needs re-programming I would imagine.

It is all programmable with a PIWIS on the 9x7. You can program comfort opening and/or closing via the key remote in the door control modules. It can be done individually for each door. Comfort opening can be a problem with the Gen1 key heads, as they are really susceptible to false operation while in your pocket. The Gen2 heads are much better, and can be programmed to a Gen1 car. The one-touch can also be enabled/disabled in the door control module. There is also a programmable anti-rattle feature, which lifts the window 1/2" when you open the door with the window down, to stop it rattling when you close the door.

The Cayman tailgate trick is also programmed in the door modules. You can get it to drop either or both windows by 2" when you open the rear lid. It means that it closes and locks by just dropping it by hand. I did it on mine, and it works brilliantly. I have no idea why they don't do it at the factory, unless it is some stupid H&S rule.
