Discussion
It has been discussed at a couple of the previous Edinlushes. Should we look for a better less studenty pub for the Edinlush to be held at from after this one? Hamiltons was nice until it changed.
Hamiltons

GreenMantle

Southsider

The Auld Hoose

Ideally what the Edinlush is looking for is a pub like Hamiltons with disabled access and serving food until at least 9pm and reasonably central in Edinburgh.
Not being from Edinburgh I wouldn't know where to start looking really other than one of the big pubs like a weatherspoons on George street.

Any ideas fellow Edinlushers?

The Southsider would be perfect if the kitchen stayed open later.Auld Hoose is good with big food but loud...
Access to the Standing Order is grim.
Holyrood 9a is nae bad with a burgery menu.
The Regent didn't burn down but I'm not sue about access - sherm, Kay?
Cask and Barrel is wheelie friendly but I'm not sure it does food.
I'd be up for giving the Cameo a go, if only to pin down the mythical Mr Trophy...

Cameo's got stairs to the loos. I think it's flat from the restaurant, but one would have to go out the bar, up the road, round the corner and through said restaurant.
Regent loo is flat access, but a tight, non-aligned double door scenario. And I'm not talking about the fact that it's a gay pub
Brass Monkey on Leith Walk? No idea about their food offerings.

Local knowledge from across the seas! Regent loo is flat access, but a tight, non-aligned double door scenario. And I'm not talking about the fact that it's a gay pub

We may have to go with Kay's field trip plan...

Kay and me went to investigate
the Holyrood 9a last night and it would make for a very acceptable edinlush location. loads of different beers for everyone to try.
we also checked out Th regent and decided to discount it due to lack of toilet facilities otherwise it is a very nice pub with a good menu and good choice of beer.
