TVR Electrical Mystery
Discussion
Due to bad weather and other commitments, I have not managed as many runs in the T350 as I would like over the winter. This resulted in a very flat battery, to the point where I had to use the secret entry method for the first time. Once in, and shackled up to the company car battery, it started first time and all was well. I was on my way to the office, which is about 25 miles away, and I stopped, just short of my destination, to fill up with fuel.
Once paid for I went back to the car and it wouldn't start. So I got out of the car to get the assistance of one of the cashiers to give me a jump start. When I returned to the car I couldn't get in again, so then went looking for a suitable appliance to get in. Once I got in, by climbing through the tail gate in the middle of a packed Shell forecourt, the car was pushed back and again started first time once connected to a charged battery. All very embarrassing.
After all this i drove the final couple of miles to work where it sat in the car park while I sat at my desk for 3-4 hours. When I went to leave I primed work colleagues that a jump start may be required, and miracle on miracle it started on its own first time.
Was this just my car trying to tell me that I should use it more and if I didn’t it would enforce other embarrassing situations on me? Does my car have a warped sense of humour or was it just another TVR electrical mystery.

Hes right you know, once you have flattened a lead acid battery fully, they sulphate up and wont charge again. You can buy special chargers that pulse the battery in a specific way to knock the sulphate off the lead plates, but its more agro' than its worth, even then the battery will never recover fully.

Hi Mark
How's the G33 going? I miss mine, but find the Tuscan more useable more often. blueg33 said:
Probably the battery is feeling underused and unloved. I had the same issue on the G33 before I sed a battery conditioner. Needed a new battery
Going out on saturday to get battery checked/replaced before SS at Silverstone on Sunday. Must talk neighbour into letting me use the power in her garage for a condintionerGassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
