Brakes for fat lardy car
Discussion
Right then, having had a rather scary brake fade moment, i'm on the lookout for a better setup.
The car is a 1992 Audi 100 (a6) 2.8 quattro.
It's currently just got plain disks, so i assume some sort of fancy grooved affair would be a good thing, and pads to match. Any reccommendations that don't cost as much as the car did?

fancy grooved discs are more a looks factor. although if the discs have a maximum of about 6 grooves, then they do have benefit of deglazing and cooling,as long as they are fitted the right way round. i think AP racing do discs for your car www.apracing.com
your budget will play a part with what you get.
pads- i recommend mintex(1144) or ferodo(ds2500) pads.
another option you should consider is braided brake hoses and better fluid, the hoses will reduce pedal spongyness and the fluid will take more abuse(high temp).
