Weirdly, I also had a 'Heads youtube fest last night.
I think the Italy 1980 concert footage is outstanding, especially considering what was happening musically at the time. As a teenager I spent far too much time with Remain in Light and Fear of Music on loop when my peer group were at the school disco living it up to Duran Duran. It's fair to say David Byrne has been responsible for a large chunk of my artistic education from the Robert Rauschenburg cover for Speaking In Tongues to the work of people like Toni Basil and Twyla Tharp via projects like The Catherine Wheel.
Collaborations with Eno opened up a whole new world - My life in the Bush of Ghosts still gets a regular airing and again, opened up a whole new world of ambient/found audio.
Byrne has been consistently ahead of the curve right from the start - world music/ambient - use of video - I think I'm right in saying that the video for Once in a Lifetime is still the only music video to be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
As time rolls on I'm still buying his work as and when its released and am pleased to see the years have relaxed him some what - when he played this at the Union Chapel gig in 2002 - a gig I count myself as privileged to have been at - it was a truly joyful moment.
