Picked up my 07 997 from OPC Cardiff yesterday. Awesome!
Trying to listen to some music today (after the glorious sound of the engine) and although it has Bose, the lack of mp3 connectivity was like going back to the dark ages. I have PCM sat nav and CD player with the multi disc thingy in the boot. Are there any simple and effective way s of getting an iPod connected? Anyone done similar?

Belkin does a transmitter that broadcasts to your radio. About fifteen quid.

Congratulations on the new car, hope you're enjoying it.

You can fit a box of tricks that will allow you to connect an iPod or USB stick to do this for you. You have a choice between brands like Dension, MoBridge or Tooki, but the Tooki is more suitable for those who mainly want phone functions. The others will integrate your phone by bluetooth as well.

Depends how much money you want to spend, HOWEVER it will invalidate your extended warranty. I fitted the Dension Gateway 500 and it is superb.

The head unit will play mp3 CDs so I basically burned a few CDs with my favourite tunes and play them.

Hi, I have a Mobridge blue tooth and iPod connector in my 997.
The blue tooth works fine, but the ipod interface can be a bit complex to use when on the move. It uses the input port from the cd changer (so that is not usable) and allows you to select music through the PCM, but this can be rather tricky as finding the albums/tracks that you want is a tad hard through the screen menu.

Yes, the choice is £15 for a transmitter that will send your music to the radio or £300+ and the hassle of fitting for a permanent solution that you control through the PCM.

The latter is much better quality, but will stop you getting a Porsche warranty if you want one.

I went for Dension 500 as I don't have a Porsche warranty and living around London means that most of the FM transmitters struggle to get a clean frequency.
