Has anyone got any advice on a problem that has recently occurred with my 966? A warning light has appeared on the control panel stating “warning battery / generator”.

I fitted a new battery about 2 months ago and the car is starting OK, but battery gauge showing that it is registering at less than 10V. The power steering not working, with the steering is now heavy. Also, the heater not working. I suspect that it could be an alternator issue but thought I would check on here for your experiences

Thanks

At a guess I'd say your drive belt is slipping badly or maybe even non existent !
This belt drives your alternator, power steering pump & water pump. If the water pump isn't working water won't circulate therefore no heater.
Also no cooling to the engine so check it out & don't drive it till its sorted .....you could cook the engine.

Hope this helps
