Has anyone got a Planet X carbon road pro?

I am after some info regarding sizing. They are so far away from me, to go and try one is a bit out of the question.

I rang them up and sadly I am in between sizes Medium - Large. They suggested either going up to have a go or finding someone who has one to have a go on.

My last road bike was a 57cm top tube which I had to have a shorter stem fitted to so I was comfy, a 55cm top tube was too small. However the Planet X has a sloping top tube so Im not sure I can use that measurement as a guide.

I am 5f11' with a 32 inch inside leg if that helps.

Yes I purchased one in January. Very very impressed. As regards frame size, I'm 5ft 8 and I've got the medium. They do come with a slightly shorter top tube being a compact frame - I've recently, after a lot of tinkering, bought a longer stem as I found I was slightly too bunched up on it. My position is now just about perfect. You will definitely need a large, and obviously stem size is something you will have to deal with once you've gone out for a few rides. I found the stock Planet X stems, although very good, were angled slightly too high (I don't flip stems by the way!). I ended up buying a Bontrager stem which did the job. The only other upgrade I've done (mine's fitted with Campag Athena) is the wheelset. Again, the Planet X wheels were very good but I ended up buying Campag Zondas with a Chorus 11 speed cassette, which are utterly superb. I think these bikes offer way more value for money than a lot of the mainstream manufactuers.

How does it ride? I'm Always wary when I only hear good things about something, and I can only find good reviews about this bike!

I always have trouble trying not to gush too much when describing this bike so I'll try and keep my sensible head on! In truth I did quite a bit of research into the bike as well and couldn't find a bad review anywhere. As regards the ride, absolutely fantastic. The bike literally shoots forward when out of the saddle climbing. Cannot believe how light it is - god only knows what the top of the range RT57 frame must feel like. It absorbs all the bumps really well and gives me full confidence when descending. All in all, it fits like a glove.

I'm guessing you got yours direct from planet x? Shame they don't do pink anymore, I was well up for that

Yes bought through Planet X, delivery time from payment to my door was about 2 weeks.

I've got a 2010 bike. I'm 'just over' 5' 10", and have a medium. I have the saddle up pretty high, but the geometry then works for me. Very happy with it so far.

Yea but thats a TT bike. I need a road bike to start off with. Thats a bargain as well.

I took an educated guess. I found a forum on tritalk with people stating their height and the sizes they had.

Personally, if I was any taller I would take the large, but that's because I'm quite long in the body and would rather not have a long stem.
