Student placement

As part of my degree in Business Studies I have the opportunity to do a year in industry. The uni look for placements for us but we are encouraged to search for ourselves aswell. My preference would be to work for a car manufacture and specialise in marketing, however would be willing to work in any area of business.

If anyone on here could help out, or has any contacts / knows of anybody who might be able to offer something I’d be really grateful. Either way you'll be helping a fellow PH’er to get a footing into the car industry! All suggestions very welcome.

I spent a year working for Toyota GB in Epsom, working in the Product Marketing Department - basically planning the new cars - was very exciting!

Toyota had a good relationship with my uni (Bournemouth) at the time, but you should be able to contact them more directly.

Having a look on their website now, you're a bit late for this year... but could hold you in good stead for next year?

Also, I know a number of other manufacturers had similar opportunities, but again I'm guessing you're a bit late for this year.

I worked for J.Sainsbury in Distribution. It was a great year and taught me more about work than any degree course could. I am sure that you can google them and find out (you might be a little late)
You can try the car dealers, but when i did this (many years ago) I got flat refusals

Thanks, I did apply for Toyota in November but was really looking into other options as there is a lot of competition for these places. Will look into Sainsburys
