Gents,

Does anyone know if these wheels would fit a 996Turbo?

Sizes are are 12"x 19" rear, 8.5"x 19" front

Cheers!

Craig.

Graig

I have 997 GT2 wheels fitted to my 2002 996 GT2 CS.

Tyres are 235/30/19 Conti sport front and 325/30/19 Conti V-Max rears.

I do run spacers and the rears are tight depending on ride height although with the previous 305/30/19 tyres there was no issues at all.

Hope this helps.

Craig

No problem. I am actually at work in the car today (dry - so why not!) so can take some on my phone.

Let me have an email address and I will send you some.

If the rolling radius is maintained (via smaller sidewalls) then how would it be raised?

Going to 325/30 tyres and plus 1" would not maintain the rolling radius.

yes

Even 305/30 is an increase in overall diameter of 1.3 inches.......

But if you use a 315/25/19 the difference is only 0.2 inches as fishy had pointed out

I think it looks right in the posted pic. biggrin

The 305/30/19 left the outer edge of the rear rims a little exposed as the tyres were a little stretched!

Going from them to the 325/30/19 actually had benefits.

The ride quality improved slighly due to the very slight increase in side wall height plus the rake of the car was altered slightly as the rear now sits a tad higher - this has all aided front end grip.

I did consider 315/30 or 325/25 tyres but as 9FF recommend and use 325/30/19 Conti V Max tyres on their 1,000+ bhp cars I was more than happy to go with them.

Porsche themselves spec 325/30/19 (PS Cups) on the 997 GT2 RS and that works fine.

With correctly set suspension (mine has Manthey specific KW setup) and geo my car handles fantastically.

need to check what size tyres are on the ones I'm looking at, wouldnt really want to change the rolling radius, would it affect speedo much?

I run 315/30 and 235/40 on 18s rather than stock 295/30 225/40 which makes my speedo more accurate according to GPS.

EDIT: Thats an increase in rolling circumference of 1.8%

Thats an increase in rolling circumference of 5.5% over 295/30/18 so it will have an affect on your speedo.
