How much are under 25's paying for insurance?
Discussion
I know there are a few young TVR drivers, so I'd be interested to know how much you're paying, and who you are using.
I'm very interested in getting a Chimaera 400 soon as a second car, but I need to try and sort out some insurance first.
I'm 23 with 5 years NCD, and will be looking for a limited mileage policy.
I don't anticipate doing more than 3-4k a year in it.
I've had an initial quote of around £850 from MSM which is with a 3k mileage limit, but I've not managed to find anyone else to quote me a sensible price yet.
So how old are you, what do you drive and how much do you pay?

at 22/23 I only found msm to give me a decent quote (though have to say I didnt try some of the above ^^^) and back then it was 600 odd but the prices have obviously gone up or the difference in location. I ended up using a policy avaliable to me through the company which was bout the same price but insures anyone to drive it with my permission
My 4.2L Cerb was around £900 when i was 24 with 5 years no claims.
25 with 6 years no claims brought it down to sub £500, fully comp as well - That was with Admiral.
Not that they appeal to me in any way but out of interest I compared it at the time with the usual boy racery Imprezas / Skylines etc. Most were all 2k plus.
I think I limited my mileage to about 4k? Which isn't too much of a big deal.

no to be fair that is a good price i am now an old get (33) with 7 years of westie experience and now have a griff 500 garaged as a second car and pay £400, i was looking at similar prices until i hit the magic 30 then prices tumbled, from what i have seen and heared 30 is the new 25 for insurers especially if you are after any form of classic specialist insurance, kit car insurance is cheaper and or american... just my 2p
