Thought you might like to see the finished article. Not perfect, but for a 95000 mile car that still drives tight, she needed a bit of a tidy up and she looks great. Will now keep her until I drop! There is always lots still to do, but now that I have spent the money on the body and paint, I feel more prepared to spend the necessary to keep her on tip top nick.

Looks great, midnight blue is it? Red calipers are a nice contrast too.

I must say that 17' cups look right on a 993 and I keep looking at my 18' turbos and thinking that they are wrong! Even though they were an option.

Mmmm, what to do..... scratchchin

I was well advised to leave the car as original as possible when I did this. I was keen to change the exhaust, lower the suspension and change the wheels - but one or two Indies said NO!! - leave as is, as was designed. I think they were right.

Great stuff, 17" on a narrow body is certainly the sweet spot imo in terms of 993's.

Black 16m is a lovely stablemate too smile

She looks lovely, great looking car.

I love MB, but it is a right royal pain to keep looking good. I seemed to get swirls on mine by just looking at it. And I have OCD when it comes to car cleaning.

same as you, got a 81k miles 993c2s midnight blue. Manual. Mint.

Spend a lot of money to keep the old lady in top shape but it would put to shame cars with a third of the mileage.

It is a bit like Elle Mac Pherson or Cindy Crawford: a few miles on the clock, but you would, wouldn't you?

Not just me then, done the same on mine kept it stock. I have spent money on the upkeep shocks, bushes power-coated a few things to make them last longer oil tank rollbars etc.

As paint peels off, after a while on those items on a car.

My dream is to pass my car to my son when I cannot drive anymore HA!!!!

The bonus is the car is going up in value each year.

What you do is get rid of those Turbos, which look too big for the car anyway, and put a set of 17's on. Then you'll see how smooth and well a 993 can handle.

Look ma, no tramlining!

I think they were wrong with the suspension. It looks too high. Some Indies don't claim all they know to about suspension. They tend to play safe, and who can blame them when there's £2k at stake.

Go for Porsche M033 lowering springs and Koni FSD dampers all round. Retains the comfort of the original setup whilst giving a sportier ride and a lower and more aggressive stance.

Your rear wheels look like they have an ET of 70. If you put 55's on there they will fill the arches better.

Put a bypass pipe on the exhaust boxes. A cheap mod that will make your car sound like a proper Porsche.

Not criticising, just helping...

Thats my plan too!!! Can you imagine sitting there next to him as an old git asking him to drive it like you did!!! Slow down, treat her with respect!!! Etc etc. I think they will tell us to just shut up - oh well. smile

Hi Kimbo

That is interesting and constructive feedback. I think in a way that was asking the help of an Indie for!! I will consider the exhaust and the springs at the next garage stop. I will check what tyres I have on, I do think they are 55's but will confirm.

Your car looks lovely by the way, I assume yours has the gear on that you referred to.
