Stone Roses - The Second Coming
Discussion
Even though it is my favourite guitar album ever, not wanting to talk about that (too much).
Interested to know if anything has been leaked about the new tracks that they are recording. Got my ticket for TITP, hoping it's a repeat, if not better, than Glasgow Green.
It's only just starting to sink in what is actually happening this summer. What it means to me, finally getting to see them all on stage together. Truly a band greater than the sum of their parts.
Anyone going to the Manchester gigs?
Heard Waterfall on a Spec savers ad and that's what triggered me off initially. It could get silly. I am slightly worried that they get torn apart with todays over-exposure but well, they're big boys and don't seem to want to sell out.
I never thought it could happen. I'm still coming to terms that it is.

Brought tickets to see them at Glastonbury 1995 but John Squire broke his collar bone and they pulled out
and soon after broke up , I was gutted! , not sure them reforming is a good idea? they have not played for soo long and Ian Browns solo shows have been hit and miss,...watched Ian Brown at Reading last year singing fools Gold and it sounded poor nobody in the crowd seemed to care less
I hope I'm wrong and they sound as good as they did in the nineties
The best place to see them this year has to be Benicassim in Spain with New Order and a reformed At The Drive In , if only my wife would let me go again

Couldn't agree more, which is why I shall be journeying to Spain to do just that - one of the joys of being single
.Time for you to build up some goodwill with your lady (or just insist) - at least 50% of our contingent aren't single & at least a couple are married, so it can be done.

Don't worry - don't do camping. Hotel rooms already reserved. Mind you, somewhere to store stuff and take a shower & you can pretty much sleep anywhere, post a few litros of Heineken of course
.Nothing of the new stuff leaked yet?

Any of you lucky Northern monkeys near Warrington are in for a treat.
The Roses first gig in sixteen years as a complete band is on tonight & it's free. Warrington Parr hall. 8pm. See Facebook for details.
Probably the first time in Warrington's history that so many people have wanted to be in Warrington.

Every report i've read says they were tight as owt on the night. Definitely doesn't look like a half arsed tax benefit comeback tour.
I've actually got goosebumps.
Didn't play any new material though. I'm wondering if they're going to play any of the new stuff at all live and tour with the classics only then release the album after.
That might actually be a good way to do it as their gigs will be a sell out anyway.
Can't believe it's actually going to happen after all this time and the same story trudged out every year about them reforming.
Somebody pinch me.

There's clips all over you tube. They sound better than ever. Ian Brown is almost singing in tune!
Never liked the bloke, something about him, did some good stuff back in the day, as a drummer who has been playing for 29 years id alway watch them for alan wren, awesome talent
I think Reni is the best musician in that band by a country mile & I'm card carrying guitar slinging disciple of John Squire.
Reni is an incredible talent & completely unique. I actually quite like the stuff the press & fans thing Ian Brown does. I'm not an unconditional Roses hugger, but I still think it's quite refreshing that a band don't tout themselves round the media, effectively saying take it or leave it. I'll take it thanks.
