would they fit into a 997GT3?Thanks in advance for any answer.
Early 997 generation RUFs had these seats so it is certainly possible, though I am not sure whether it is trivial or there is more to the installation. Assuming that you would be taking out sports seats (rather than the optional carbon buckets), something would have to be done to stop the airbag warning light coming on for the absence of the thorax bags in the original ones though.I watched the auction end and paid straight away by PayPal. I then checked my emails and found one from him 2mins before the auction ended saying that he had sold them to someone that day via another advert and they had been collected. Ebay wouldn't let him cancel the auction with less than 12hrs remaining. I am pretty miffed but will kicking up a fuss get me anywhere? He has a 100% rating from a couple of hundred transactions on ebay.
Wouldn't necessarily read too much into the feedback.
If he sold them earlier in the day why did it take him til auction end -2 minutes to email you?
Clearly he was hedging his bets and/or possibly (probably) didn't sell them offline.
Expect to see them relisted "due to timewaster" in the near future...

Lots of very bad things going on here .... the reason ebay don't let you cancel an auction with less than 12 hours to go is to stop this sort of behaviour - listing an item, not liking the price and then pulling out of the sale. Given he is an experienced ebayer, he should have known this.
By winning the auction, you have a contract with him, and he with you. You pay the money, he delivers the seats. Simple. You could legally pursue this and would win but it's up to you whether you think it is worth it. You never know, a little pressure may yield some seats that you won in the auction.
As a minimum, you should report him to ebay and leave him negative feedback so people know his form.

He didnt even have the usual caveat that they were for sale elsewhere and he retained the right to withdraw them etc

Having said that, you do realise there's someone selling replica ones in the uk for 700-800 a pair-made in carbon fibre too for that price. They also make spg replicas as well as folding chairs.
I got their details at the autosport international....

It's pretty academic how much replicas sell for to be honest, the guy in this thread hoping to bag a bargain would've got a set of genuine seats for that sort of money.... if the seller was a bit more scrupulous.
Bottom line - if he had a minimum price he was prepared to sell them for he should've set a reserve or Buy It Now/Best Offer.

I know someone who once had the replicas in a 993 and they are nothing like as comfortable as original Recarro GT3 seats to me. The style is the same but they aren't any basis for a like for like comparison.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
