Eurotunnel booked, so a two week trip taking in France's Atlantic coast, Northern Spain, Portugal ending in Seville. Then driving back through central Spain to make my way home. Any must see places en-route or great driving roads? It looks like a 3500 - 4000 mile round trip, lovely job.

I'm doing some of the same journey later this year but ending at Santiago. I've been this route a few times and depending on what you are after I would recommend a few days in San Sebastian for general food and drink stuff. The beach at Bidart is nice if you want to get a bit of sunbathing in. On the way back up have a stop in Lourdes, I'm not a religious person but the cathedral and the associated "healing" stuff is quite an experience.

Lourdes is not something that I would wish to visit again as it is just like a Religious Benidorm with all the crap it sells, all the poor people that get taken in with buying bottled water, what a scam plus everything else.
The whole place has been turned into a money maker,as opposed to what it was/is supposed to be.

Best places to visit on your route:-
Biarritz,with Airport
St Jean de Luz
Bayonne
San Sebastian for the very best Tapsa in Spain, get into the Casco Viejo about 7pm,ensure that you take a camera and a healthy appetite.
Then Burgos,Madrid,Seville or,

San Sebastian,Santander again for Tapas, then South towards Valladolid,Salamance for Cathedrals & the oldest University in Europe, then Caceres, old Town, Seville, from Salamanca down you are in some of Spains best PORK country for everything pork.

I was there a few years ago so not sure if it has changed since then the town was full of virgin mary bottles etc. the cathedral was only really selling candles. Commercialism aside I found the strength of the faith quite interesting.
