Washing the car this afternoon.....wiper blades up from windscreen.
Dried car off then started door shuts and under front and rear lids.......forgot to put wipers back down and opened front lid ......

I now have 2 nice paint chips where the wipers smacked into the front lid .....

NUMPTY NUMPTY NUMPTY .....

Anyone else managed to do this......

No, but the common slip up is not putting a 996 rear wiper down properly - it scratches the C pillar.

Yes did it on my escort cosworth years ago, followed it up by shutting the garage door on the whale tail, the same night my golf clubs fell of the shelf onto my bonnet, this was the day I bought it!

Have almost done that but worse for me was a load of timber stored in the roof trusses of the garage being dropped onto the bonnet and roof of my mint e30 sport evo by my father.

How we laughed at that one.

Me too - I suspect it is rather common, though getting actual damage from it probably isn't. <sympathy for the OP>

I did the rear wiper / c pillar thing on my C4S ........... Mega score down the n/s/r rear wing ............. Happened the day I collected the car - before ,yes before, I drove it off the forecourt . Boy o boy I felt life a horses ass - eyes nearly flew out of my head !!!!!! Can all be avoided with a small 10p cable tie.

Another one here for the rear wiper vs c pillar. Mine actual scratched the c pillar on the way down, scribed an arc on the top of the rear wing, then scratched its way back up the c pillar.

I laugh about it now woohoo

When your wiper is up when your washing the rear screen, if your not careful, you can catch it. The blade flips so the whole assemblies like a T shape. Then the wiper blade frame basically "keys" your c pillar.

It's an absolute tw@t

I did the rear wiper thing on my C4 about 6 years ago, made my eyes water... note to self, go and get a tie-wrap now and put it on the rear wiper of my new Turbo S immediately! smile

Nothing to mine, but seen a few shattered windscreens on my dads cars during wiper blade changes.. he never learns.
