New Veloce RS rims
Discussion
I presume that these have been noticed before but I haven't found any pics as yet. Has anyone bought a set as yet and have pics on a car? I have been (and continue) to procrastinate about getting something more suitable for my 993 (it has an RS 'kit' but sports classic wheels). Im not for buying a full set of speedlines (sorry, they might be totally on the button but they are silly heavy and huge money) but getting something near the look would be nice!

I could be wrong Moll, but I think the OP is talking about the 993RS rep veloces that PWS now sell.
Those ones in your picture are the 964 3.6 reps which imo should go on 964s not 993s.
Likewise the 993RS reps don't really look their best on 964s.
I like the veloce wheels though and will probably stick a set on my 964 once I get the bodywork done.
Go for it OP!

Give o'er marky-there's nowt wrong with them on a 993, in fact I'd go so far as to say it was a sign of great taste & sexual prowessThose ones in your picture are the 964 3.6 reps which imo should go on 964s not 993s.

Adam,
I'd say get them bought, just remember what they are-polished rims do not like grit & salt!

No offence Craig. I always thought yours had the 993 ones on. Looked great anyway.
Both lovely wheels and a bit of a saviour for anyone going for the OE look without the expense of the genuine splitties. Even if I had the cash and could find some Speedlines I'd be scared to use them given the cost, so the Veloce rims are probably THE best option these days.
Hmmm the problem with the veloce's is they don't last, not as they are-they can't.
If I'd have kept mine I would have stripped them back & had them professionally re-done. You could media blast the edge & build up coat upon coat of clear lacquer, then seal the fake bolts in with silicone to stop any water getting in from under there.
On Adams car I'd repaint the centres in speed yellow as well-it'd look the nuts!

Thanks guys. I know about the 3.6 reps but just had noticed the RS on an idle browse... I assume they must be pretty new.
Craig, the car has had two winter runs this year... the chrome should hopefully not be an issue! There are plans that her next home will be heated and dehumidified as well - keep them in shape! Oh and of course we shouldn't forget that I spend half my days formulating care care products, so I hope I could keep them in order

Aha I forgot what you do for a living mate
As a bonus you'll probably get back most of what you spend by selling your sport classics as well.
Got rid or that badge on the back yet?!

Unfortunately the car lives in a family garage and basically gets blocked in which makes it damned hard to do anything! I do have a 'to-do' list for the year though... badge replacement (just probably go with Carrera), full paint detail, wheels, leather 'rejuvenation' but I am being cautious... there is a little oil leak which we reckon is either a little seal which is easily changed but could also be something gearboxy which would need the whole damned thing taken to bits. That being the case all that dosh would be going into doing all the 'other' bits which the car is apart (e.g. clutch which is just fine but a bit old so sensible to do with everything dropped).
But those wheels are just gorgeous!
bloody hell adam you're a bit slow aren't ya?!
i've bought an SC restoration, finished it off, sold it, bought a Z4M coupe, had it on track & you still haven't taken off that badge!!
just spent a lovely afternoon fitting my denison ice link to the Z in preparation for the ring trip at the end of march-just the sat nav updates & some paint correction to do now & i'm about sorted i think
where's the leak coming from? is it a leak or just a weep?

I am not so hardcore as you!
In my defence, the situation where the car is located is truly a disaster and pees me off as much as anything because I don't easily get the car on the road. It was with the bodyshop and mechanic for 2 months getting the scuttle panel and misc bits and bobs totally right so I have been reluctant to fiddle so much.
I think that the oil is actually a leak. It was spotted from dripping in the garage so strikes me as a bit more. Now I understand it is hardly a disaster but I would like to sort it. I think it is either a little gearbox seal (hopefully) or a gasket which apparently was not always in place. The latter requires a whole load of labour and we are thus keen not to do it yet.
I was always quite keen on a Z4M and there are some which are spectacular value. Do you not find it is just remarkably civilised compared to the older porsche? Does that not make it a bit bland?
Oh... i might not have done so well on the 911 but I am now into a shiney volvo c70 T5.... pottering about in something insanely slow got to me!
