1963 Simca 900 (1000)

Hi guys,

Went out for a drink last night and came home with a '63 Simca 900 ... looks like a 1000 anyone know of parts suppliers :-) or any info regarding these odd cars....

There was a few Abarth versions of the Simca 1000 made in the 60's.

In the 60's there was a French guy who drove one of these for many miles (km I s'pose)on 2 wheels around various Frech towns and villages to set a 2 wheel record. Must have had a locked diff...
I remeber seeing a programme on tv of it with him nonchalantly driving with one hand on the gutter holding a fag - obviously a Gitanes or Disque Bleu.

Forgot about the two wheeled driving Simcas, entertaining stuff like this would just not happen today !!

Well basically the car looks like this just with rust :-) I have a mate making a few old Spa circuit stickers and are on the lookout for the blue overalls, then I’m set for pre 66 Lavant bank Goodwood Revival 2012 ....


Of course I need to make it to the circuit..



Ohh and I have a Paris 75 plate to finish it off...

on/t Years later we had a 1000 as a company car. It seemed pretty nice to me, what do I know I was 12 All I really had to compare to it was our 1950 Plymouth, and the Dauphine we once had.

My old man and I had Simcas at the same time he had 1973 1000 Special (green) and I had 1974 1000 Rallye 1 (white) They both had the same 1294cc 60bhp engine if memory serves.
