Thinking about taking a trip round the IOW in out trailer sailer this year. Can anyone recommend somewhere that we can launch the boat and spend a couple of nights. Boat has got lifting keel but is quit difficult to launch, so needs to be a pretty decent slipway. Also need parking for trailer and car. Cheers.

Lymington has a very decent public slip right next to the royal lym yacht club.

I recall Lymington slipway is somewhat steep.

Warsash is good, wide, trailer and car parking too.

Steep is good is you're keeping the trailer attached to the back of your car though. Also means you don't have to get wet. Lymington is a very good slipway, but it is quite expensive to launch and to park.

Steep is good for us, don't get the car so wet.

The drag with Lymington is the drive through the new forest first form the motorway. Mostly it's long straight roads but you have to navigate through Lyndhurst which is a couple of sharp corners assuming you're coming from the M3. Nothing to bad.

Hardway, Gosport.

Public slip is a freebie I think, public carpark and trailer park also a freebie, and as a visting yachtie you could pay for cheap berthing for a night or two at Hardway SC. Pontoon is tidal but with a drop keel you'd be OK on the end at neaps.
