Cala Bona, Majorca
Discussion
Anyone been before?
Myself and 'er indoors, despite our limited budget for any excursions this year, have found a decent deal, 1 week in Cala Bona at the end of April in a 4 star hotel (that attracts good reviews on Tripadvisor) self catering, for a smidge over 100 quid flights and accommodation
If anyones been before, what things do you recommend to do, see, eat etc?? I hear from the missus that theres a go-kart track nearby (saunters off to google....)

Hi, I know Cala Bona well, friends have a Villa in Costa De Los Pinos which is the next area along the coast. Its a nice laid back family resort and is fairly "English" so no worries there (whether thats a good thing or not is entirely down to your tastes). Things will only just be opening in April as the main season doesn't really start until May, but as Easter is so early this year there may well be more open than usual. As for things to do get out and explore, theres some fabulous scenery so it could be worth hiring a car? Does the package have transfers? If not definitely hire a car as the transfer alone in a taxi will be 70-80 euros there and back. I would thouroughly recommend the caves at Arta just up the coast (better than the more wisely advertised Caves of Drach) Wasn't aware of a kart track to be honest?!? Any other questions fire away...

Mallorca is phenomenally rich in things to see. Get a hire car - so much to explore, it's unreal. We usually hire a villa around Cala d'Or.
The bottom road along the south coast is stunning in April but you have Arta in the north and the nearby Capadepera castle, Valdemossa in the west and the Torrent de Pareis, Cap Formetor in the north, a safari park at Sa Coma, the Palma to Soller railway.
The list goes on and on. Staying in one resort will deny you one of the most varied islands I've ever been to.
