Is the fastest hotel porter in F1 going to race next year?
His "I've still got what it takes" comments in every interview smack of all those "I'm fitter, faster and this is going to be my year" statements of the pre Kimi days, when Hakkinen would then wipe the floor with him again and again

if he were a dog he would have been put to sleep a long long time ago. DC is old and slow. He won't get another drive based on success or good performances but on experience and the fact that people think he is a safe bet for a few points throughout the season.
I can't believe people would rather see him race in F1 than guys like Castroneves, De Ferran and Piquet Jr...

I don't believe he will. And rightfully so.
DC has had nothing but the best cars to drive since being in F1, and done nothing with it.
Not that I really care, as I won't be watching it anymore anyway. But 'Dianabol Jaw' has had his day.
F1 drivers can go one of 2 ways in my opinion.
Move up the teams as you get better then leave the sport at the top (Hakkenen, Schumi at some point, etc) - that is the best option, or
Get a good drive, win, stop winning, keep racing but slip down the grid and teams (Jacques, DC?) - In my opinion I would rather go into team management. Must be hard to admit you never won it though.
Mark.

I must admit i never understood this ethos.. HEck if i was making money driving i'd keep taking the cash untill it stopped comming...

Knew about Monaco. He has just opened another place near Nottingham and has also been looking at a place near the Forth Bridge.
No pension problems there then
These guys really must have some serious money in the bank. It seems that nearly all of the F1 drivers have almost unlimited spending power - DC's hotel and, I assume, home in Monaco, JB's huge yacht and homes, etc, etc...

Hang on though guys - we all take just as big risks and pay thousands for the priviledge (our cars are slower, but arguably not as safe, there is possibly also a difference in circuit facilities at an F1 meet and a 750MC equivalent).
You don't start off in motorsport with the intention of making a fortune out of it (the percentage of true professional drivers is tiny) you go in as its a 'kin fantastic sport.
Surely $25m pa on top of that is just a bonus .

Q. How do you make a small fortune in motorsport?
A. Start with a big one.
The only thing that annoys me about DC is that whilst he's making a dogs breakfast of qualifying then trundling around anonymously for a point or two, he's keeping people like Manning, Wheldon, Wilson and Davidson out of the frame.
I'll quit if F1 is too fast - Coulthard
McLaren driver believes F1 is not too fast
Coulthard doesn't want F1 slowed down
David Coulthard does not believe Formula One cars are too fast.
The Scot therefore disagrees with FIA president Max Mosley who has ordered teams to make 'emergency' slow-down changes in a bid to stave-off a driver fatality.
"[Olivier] Panis said the day he thinks the cars are too quick he will stay home and I feel exactly the same way," Coulthard told Britain's Daily Mirror.
"I'm not gung-ho but I don't feel the cars are too fast."
McLaren's veteran ace said it makes little difference if a Formula One car hits a hard wall at 100 miles per hour or 150 miles per hour. "It's going to hurt."
"[We need] proper run-off and proper crash barriers."
I say speed those cars up, and soon!

I've never liked DC, IMHO he's complete idiot and never stops whinging!!!!!!!..... like when he was with Williams and kept moaning on about Hill getting better treatment from the team.... did Hill ever crash on the parade lap?!!!!
DC has had a career with top teams and his pole/win ratio is desparate.... time to move over, let someone else have a go!
