Made the monumental mistake of having a mini fish and chips from the chip shop, 3 hours before getting on it last Friday. I was burping vile fish smelling gas all night.

So what is your per drinking meal and how long before do you eat it?

An 'all-day breakfast' sandwich on the train up to London.

Anything from the Co-op by Epsom Station will more than likely have seen the light of several.

Tend to eat pizza just because it's easy when you're with your friends. I can't drink much if I eat too late (need a bigger stomach frown), so it's usually 2 or 3 hours before the proper drinking starts.

I never eat any food that has been deep fried or fish before going on the lash. From experience I always end up seeing them again later in the night. Usually go for smething like pasta before a night on the lash.

Washed down with a pint of milk & some milk thistle, that's a good shout. Or, assuming there aren't any vodka & cornflakes soaks to please, a chaser and bacon & sausage butty is perkier alternative.

Eatins' Cheatin'

I tend to go for something stodgy, sandwiches, pasta, that sort of thing.

Gives a good base to drink on but I can't drink too soon after eating, I feel too full otherwise. Too often I've gone out for a meal, a nice curry or something, then attempted to go out afterwards but felt so bloated and sluggish that I can barely drink two pints and just want to sleep.

Make sure you void earlier meals before you go out too, I made the mistake of thinking I was alright when I last went out. Just because you can fart as loud as you like in a club without anyone hearing you, people will still know that somebody has farted.

I cleared the dance floor twice before finally admitting defeat and making my way to a cubicle with no lock.

ill usually have something small, 1-2 hours before. like a chicken burger. I don't like mixing food & alcohol, or eating then drinking soon after. Whenever I mix the two I just end up feeling tired & sleepy. As a result I tend to wait till the end of the night to have something to eat.

where alcohol consumption is concerned I tend to avoid carbs like rice, chips, pasta. I find that eating meat before bed helps much better in preventing the morning hangover then carbs do.
If i eat protein i tend to wake up after excessive drinking feeling ok. Whereas with carb foods I'm still hungover, and in some cases, end up throwing up that undigested food.

Bread based food to absorb the alcohol....and here is something from where I come from.... Half boiled eggs if you are drinking spirits. I am told it will coat the stomach.
