As in the title, generally where is the best place to get my currency, UK or Oz, post office, airport etc etc. Thanks for the help.

Don't buy it at the Airport unless you have pre-ordered it. The walk-in rate is eye-wateringly bad. You would probably get around $1.30 to the £, you might get around $1.42 from the post office\marks and spencer etc.

TravelEx pre-order rates where you pay up front and collect from the airport will probably match that.
