Ferrari Festival

Who's going to Donington in September then?

Later this year (September 11th & 12th), Donington will once again play host to the Ferrari Festival. Titled "See Red", the event will see hundreds of Ferraris descend on the race track with owners both watching and competing.

The Shell Historic Ferrari Maserati Challenge will be attending the event with 6 grids of 50s, 60s and 70s Le Mans GT cars which will race, and up to 9 Ferrari F1 cars with the Corse Clienti.

The F1 cars will be demonstrating four times over the weekend in 20 minute slots on the Donington track.

Tickets are only £25 for the weekend or £13 each day in advance.

The organisers are also happy to create an in field parking area for PistonHeads.com so if you're planning on attending then please add yourself to our calendar and we'll see what we can rustle up.

I'll try to get there for sure. You 'turning' Daz? It's OK to come out of the closet you know, none of the Porsche guys ever come over here. DazEnzo has a certain ring to it. It'll be our secret...

Much as I am sure the Enzo is a fantastic car, if I had that amount of money to spend on a Ferrari I'd buy an F40 (£150k), a 550 Barchetta (£120k) and a 456mgt spec 360CS (£140k) and still have change.

PS - Yes I am thinking of attending. Will they mind non Ferraris being in the PH parking zone?

If there's a few going down from Yorkshire, might be the ideal opportunity for me to have a nosey and do a few real life comparisons.

Well if they do, we'll tell them to feck right off. They sometimes get all models of one type parking together, though I've always felt this diminishes the impact. Not everyone coming to the festival brings a Ferrari(!) so we can create our own little 'display' in the general parking area. Hope to see you before then Daz.

I'm going along for both days ... and yes I'd be interested in parking up in a Pistonheads reserved area. I'd put this in the calendar if I could get into it ....

I'm thinking of the sunday. Al, Kevin what days are most likely for yourselves?

DAZ

Hmmmm, go with the link and it doesn't let me select the sunday, it automatically tries making me register for the saturday. Go into the diary via the drop down menu above, click on the september events, click on the sunday entry and it still tries making me register for the saturday.

Having been to this in the past there were Lotuses, Tivs and all sorts of interesting cars. I'll be taking the M3.

Hi Al

Would fancy going down with you. Other Yorkshire PH'ers may also want to come along too? Simonspider should have his Murcie by then too. Do you fancy it Simon?

Will mail you Al.

If we register interest with PH area we can all go infield. Apparently if we put the PH logo in the window they will let us through. I spoke to the VSCC this morning.
