Has anyone tried the Fabspeed Maxflo Competition Intake on a 996 GT3?

My main concern is whether it offers sufficient protection compared to the original factory filter.

Also, does it actually provide any benefit and what does it sound like?

Slightly off topic - but Neil and i received our Center Bypasses for our 997 RS.

The item in itself looks good, good finishing.

Hi,

I have experimented with a few air filter systems on my 6.1 gt3. when i got the car it came with a carbon GruppeM system below.. cost someone a fortune, didn't sound any different and lost power on a rolling road over a standard system...

I have seen the Fabspeed setup which again is very nice.. But there is alot to be said for the standard airbox with a K&N panel filter with regards to power results..

Thanks Ade. That sort of confirms what I'm worried about.

I think Porsche know how to design an airbox.

If we can cheat a bit with the filter and improve the air resistence then that probably gets as close as possible to the ideal.

Anyone disagree?
