Bosch injectors - upgrades
Discussion
Hi,
Does anyone know the bosch part number for 'bosch greens'? I'm looking for an injector capable of supplying enough fuel for 100hp/litre
I reckon if I run them at 80% max duty cycle (any higher and they tend to fibrilate!), then as I'm only using 1 injector per cylinder, I need a flow rate of about (275*0.55)/(6*0.8)= approx 31.5 lb/hr.
It's for a 911 RS, and the current injectors aren't good for more than about 300hp on the 3.6l engine cos, a) they can't supply enough fuel and b) the duty cycle gets very high and they just end up open all the time - massive pulse width...
Any other recommendations. I was planning on running either a MoTEC M48 or M600, but an wondering whether an Emerald 3D system would suffice. I am not going to run a distributor-less ign and want to run sequential injection. Ideally I'd like to run a wideband O2 as well.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link.
I've found another which gives est HP at different duty cylces for different BSFC assumptions.

PS the originals are 0 280 150 731, I now need to find a suitable upgrade with a similar impedance and mounting type....

Fergus,
Try Jegs.com They are good and deliver quick. For example the Accel ones here I think are same style as Bosch. www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=4114&prmenbr=361
Also quite cheap even after the evil HMCE add their bit.

The greens you mention are around 390cc' and usually referred to as 803's, as the last 3 digits of the part number are 803. The Cossie guys use these.
0280 150 803 fitted as std to Porsche 944 2.5 l turbo. green in colour.
Check here

Any bosch style high impedance replacement will fit. 42lb injectors are approx 440cc.
Not sure about the Emerald, although Im sure it will do what you need.
Im using a DTA P8Pro, which also has the option of closed loop fuel control, via either narrowband, or an external wideband input.

Mail me tommorrow. I spent quite a while compiling a spreadsheet that lists pretty much every injector. I'll send it over, provided it goes no further.
Cheers

Any particular reason you wouldn't want the list to go any further, other than it took you a long time to put it together .

Guys,
check this out:
http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm
It lists the flow rate for virtually every injector in existance and the expected HP at various duty cycles and over various BSFC assumptions. Nice.
Stevie, thanks for the heads-up regarding the DTA unit.

I'd thoroughly reccommend the Emerald system not that I'm biased but I run it on my V8 wedge and it's running sequential injection and dizzyless ignition, plus Karl and Dave are very obliging and will help out with ECU specific mods if required, plus the system is also runs closed loop and has an 8 channel 50Hz logger
And its still the cheapest without going megasquirt

Mainly because it took me a hell of a long time to put together (2 years so far) and I use it extensively for my work so it may have some calculations etc. kicking about on some of the sheets that I don't want "out and about" as they refer to various development I'm doing.
