Can't really remember what they said I think it was they put stress somewhere else on the car and you know what it's like when people tell you things like that I've had my car seven years in June it's a 2003 with 74000 mile I'm hoping it will breath new life in the handling I also need top mounts now do think power flex do those

Steve - have a look at my thread here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I am going to do exactly what you mention but sadly not until after summer so I can't feedback yet.
The options you have are Powerflex or Polybush who both do kits for the car. They both do individual bushes or front/rear kits. With Polybush you need to buy the ARB bushes separately.

I've shopped around a good bit and Larkspeed stock both and they are competetive on price so I would talk to them.

I have not found a poly top mount. You can get a sperical top mount but thay are about 420 odd quid for both fronts.

The OEM mount is about 120 quid a side or there is an option IIRC of buying the bearing that sits in the mount for about 30 quid and get it fitted into the existing mount if its sound. http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_996_...

Hope this helps......if you do this before me let me know how you get on....but I think for fast road and occasional track work it makes sense to do all the bushes.

Cheers
