I need a job !!

Well I've been out of work for a little while now and am looking for something that I actually want to do ! I was trained as a paint sprayer by a VW/Audi dealer back in 1990 and have used most paint systems inc Glasurit and Standox. I have also worked as paint shop foreman at Peugeot and a Renault specialist repairers (doing lots of Espace's as the normal Renault dealer bodyshops wouldn't do them) . Back in 1999 I became totally disillusioned with painting as I found nobody wanted a decent job doing and it was all down to hours sold and corners were being cut that I felt let standards slip.
I then stupidly went and became a bus driver for ten years, steady but totally brain numbing work. I am now trying to find a way back into painting ( I have painted lots of cars and bikes from home) but want work away from the mainstream bodyshops and would prefair some sort of restoration work, I am a pretty decent mechanic too. So if anyone within the Merseyside area has a vacancy please get in touch, I would also consider prep work if it gets me a foot in somebody's door !!
The other option I have thought about is a paint/polishing business of my own, going mobile and offering single and dual action machine polishing/ paint rectification work using the higher end waxes and polishes, I'm just not sure if there is enough demand ???
Any opinions greatly appreciated !!

car Detailers / Valeters in Mersyside/liverpool that'll give you your scope for demand or not , what youll see/find tho is that there area LOADS of people starting up doing the valeting/detailing milarky (which for like of a better word are both the same just different terminology ) the category your on about would be "detailing, Paint Correction".
Most of the guys do the machine polishing and then try and get into the painting/stone chip side of things so I suppose you've an advantage of being able to do everything ie paint/touch up cars aswell as a full correction detail.
If you can get a foot in the door re the polishing then go for it !
if youve got the stuff offer to do your mates cars for free , in return they put a sticker in their back window saying hte car was "detailed by you along with your contact details "

Head over to detailing world for info on that side of things. There does seem to be an awful lot of people doing that now..
What about doing paint & body work in a resto shop ?
Your work/skill would be appreciated there rather than your general crash repair shop ?
If you are multi skilled you'd be able to spanner as and when they need you to.
Might have to take the work on a job by job basis to begin with though.
