Luxor, Egypt, advice please.

We've just booked up for 11 days at the Palme Royale Hotel in Soma Bay, Egypt from the 23rd of March, our 40th wedding anniversary is on the 29th so it's a special trip.

We'll definitely be doing a lot of diving and I'll be windsurfing and maybe even having a round of golf but my wife is very keen on visiting Luxor for a bit of culture so I'm trying to find out whether we can see the important bits on a one day trip or whether two days would be necessary.

Any advice or tips on either the Hotel, Soma Bay or Luxor would be much appreciated.
