Shiritaki Noodles
Discussion
They are pretty tasteless TBH. They don't really seem to 'absorb' flavour that well. You don't really cook them, generally you just open the packet, drain and soak in hot water for a couple of mins to warm up.
My mum (Japanese) gave me some to try but I wouldn't rush out to buy them.
Was it the health side of them that interested you (ie. very low calorie/carb etc)? If so then they would act as a reasonable substitue for egg or rice noodles and they are pretty filling. If not, I'd stick to the other stuff. Udon or soba noodles are far nicer!
I now have a pack of noodles made from sweet potatoes to try, I could report back on them if that interested you?
