The other half and I are planning to go to Monaco for the F1 race this year. We've got a couple of days either side of the race to fill, so looking for some suggestions on things to see and do while there. Not necessarily motorsport related, she's not into racing and I reckon being there on race day will be quite enough for her. We're staying in Nice, not planning on hiring a car, but nothing is impossible.

I think we also hit the tail end of the cannes film festival, so might pop over for the day, but what should we not miss while we're there?

Cheers

You have pretty much covered it all,

The film festival is a great time to be in the little village of Cannes...it is buzzing. Get yourself to the Carlton Hotel (on the main strip) balcony bar and get a good seat to people watch.

You could try going to Mougins, quite an arty village near cannes http://www.mougins.fr/tourisme/ it is nice to walk around.

Inbetween Cannes and Nice you have Antibes and Juan Le Pins...is a good place for a night out, cool bars and clubs if that is what you like. Again around the GP/Film Festival it will be crazy busy. Also if you like to watch people (which by now you will have deduced are old men with pretty young things on their arms) Get yourself over to Hotel Du Cap in Eden Roc as well, again people/car/boat watching.

Old Nice is nice as well, restaurants and bars aplenty and during the day time it is a flower market (if i remember correctly)...which is nice again to walk around.

Oh, take cash...and lots of it smile
