Interesting to see the 991 offers the sports suspension with the chassis lowered 20mm.

Sounds tempting with sports front body kit (etc), but has anyone here actually test driven it on UK pot-holed roads? viable?

The -20mm is not too harsh for me on my 997.2 so I dont see why it would be a problem on the 991. Certainly looks better

And if, as many say, the 991 is quieter and smoother, then it might be the prefect setup to put a bit of dog back in what threatens to be too compliant a car.

Not so sure about that, i drove a 991 for a few hours last week and was disappointed in the ride quality, i thought it was dramatically worse than a 997 with PASM and -20mm, think the 20's and the tyres must be the reason, was really disappointed

I had the same experience as you, but, since everyone else says the 991 is amazingly comfortable, I assumed mine was a freak experience down to tyres (Pirellis) and wrong pressures... or a poor judge... glad to hear I'm not alone.

The ride in the 991 is not as good as the magazines suggest it is.

What does everyone mean by "ride"?

Are we talking about comfort, if so, SPASM -20mm is a GT3 setup for all intents and purposes and the fact that they aren't "comfortable" in the generally accepted sense, has been done to death on here.

Why then would anyone expect this extreme suspension option on a 991 to attain something which is virtually impossible on any other car?

Please feel free to tell me I am talking Shoite!

I think you might have the wrong end of the stick, what i'm saying is that the standard 991 wiht PASM doesn't ride as a 997 with -20mm and PASM, you'd expect a standard 991 to be better and with the -20mm I'd expect it to be at best similar, IMO it's neither and in standard form is worse than a 997 with the -20mm, so I can only assume the 991 wiht -20mm would be even worse.........mo one expect limo comfort but for an everyday car you do need some compliance and I think the 20" wheels and tyre combination i tried was a step backwards

A triple-black 991 with SPASM has rocked up on you tube, looks pretty low!
