heater motor

Sure I have seen something on this before but the search function isnt working. Does anybody know the original source of the heater motor on the S1 (I believe it continued to be used on most later S types?). Mine is an AC Delco unit and possibly therefore Vauxhall/Opel derived? Or does anybody know an alternative part (there is nothing on the alternative parts list).
The motor on mine is now out. It is definitely completely dead, and it would need more than rewiring to get it going again (burnt and broken plastic at one end).

If nobody know the source, or an alternative, I will do a bit of research and see what I can come up with.

It does, incidentally, seem to me that the fan diameter is too small for the box. I.e. the outer radius of the fan is too far away from the outer radius of the plastic housing for the fan to be very effective.

Scroll fans draw air into the centre of the fan, so the front of the fan (the ring locating all the blades) should be a reasonable fit up to the hole in the housing. The air is then thrown outwards so space is needed around the fan for that air be directed by the shape of the housing (bit like a snail shell)to the outlet.

If the fan was a "good fit" in the housing there would be nowhere for the air to go and the fan would, in effect, just chew the air up.
