So I'm gonna sell the 997 and probably to a dealer but I had a 2 year OPC warranty added in December.

This will of course be no use to a dealer as non-transferable thru the trade.

As the warranty is only an insurance policy, can you get a refund on non used cover ?

Suspect not but wondered if anyone had come across the situation?

Cheers
Mike

Was told by my OPC before he attempted to perform a violent contested sexual act on my wallet with the trade in valuation - that as they now need to sell a car with 2 years warranty you get credit for any unused years. Hmmm yeah err right.... ;-)

let the dealer sell the car on your behalf and then the new owner can benefit from the remaining warranty and you will basically get your money back due to the increased price/desirability of the car.

OPC love cars with a new 2 year warranty as they then don't have to put one on .

My Spyder already had a 2 year warranty so OPC saved all that cost.

I would of thought advertising it privatley with an opc warranty would be a great selling point it's almost like buying with total confidence for the purchaser.

Possibly Barry, but the whole tyre kicking nightmare puts me off.

People expect to get trade prices with out the hassle free dealer experience.

I sold my last 911 to 911v which was very easy and a surprisingly good deal.

The only thing stopping me is dropping the 2k warranty cost but hey these things happen.

Sure you will be able to get a better offer privately, than a dealer trade in price which should cover the expenditure.

Just got to ensure you advertise it properly.

Get your advert up and not doubt it will get linked back to here and gain some extra interest. wink

The next purchaser of your car, even if purchased via the dealer you sell to, will benefit from the warranty..... and indeed if the dealer (maybe an OPC) puts a warranty on it as part of the sale, then the two will run consecutively and not overlap

Not true, the warranty is void as soon as the car goes to a dealer.

Any dealer who says he is selling a car with the balance of the Prsche warranty (except an OPC) is lying, unless they are brokering a sale via SOR

Rubbish! Not if its a Porsche Warranty purchased via an OPC.

My current car, purchased from OPC Glasgow was subject to the previous owner putting on an extended OPC Porsche Warranty... He traded it back to OPC Glasgow, where I bought it. Craig put another years Warranty (OPC policy) on it and the two run consecutively.... End result my car is covered till January 2014.

I have written confirmation of this on the Sales Invoice smile

And me - they've certainly slackened off a bit recently on the conditions.
