Hello,

So i went to use my 2002 c2 996 at the weekend, i havent used it since the weekend before. After accidently setting the alarm off, i notice the stereo is completely dead. It had a Becker Grand Prix fitted in a very stock looking instal by the previous owner some years ago, everything else is stock, with the stock speakers and cd changer etc.

Now i have had stereos go on the blink before, but it is usually a gradual process, or, the amplifier goes, or cd goes etc etc, i have never had one completely go dead with no warning, no lights, no sound, nothing.

Is it possible a have blown a fuse? Am i being overly hopeful that in setting off the alarm I have blown some fuse somewhere? Is there an easy way to check?

Many thanks

In my '99 996 the fuse box is down by the accelerator pedal on the driver's side wheel arch, put your finger in the hole and pull! There should be a little piece of paper in the fuse cover explaining what each fuse is for.

There is also a fuse in the back of the head-unit, you'll need to remove the set to check it and you'll need a pair of Becker radio keys to do that
