London Steakhouse

Can anyone recommend a decent steakhouse in London? I'm going in a couple of weeks for a pre-theatre meal and ideally it would be close to Covent Garden.

Has anyone tried Hawksmoor? The menu looks good there. The other option is Maze Grill

Been to Hawksmoor - and it is good. Better than places like the Gaucho Grill, but still not as good as some of the best places in the US. My wife loved the grilled marrow starter. I don't think I have had better steak in the UK, Although I do seem to remember really enjoying my steak at Le Cellier Du Midi in Hampstead many years ago.

Recommend The Hawksmoor for that location, very good but pricey. Non-steak with pre-theatre option would be Rules.

Sophies Steakhouse is worth a try, had an awesome steak there, nothing else on the plate, just steak, apologies for rubbish phone camera pic.





Edit: Now I've seen the pic, there was some rabbit food on the plate, the big bowl of chips is off camera.

Hawksmoor is good but I'd also strongly recommend Goodman on Maddox St - top steak, properly hung...
