What events are you taking your classic to in 2012?

I'm just looking at the calendar and wondering what interesting outings I can get involved with. So far I've got the DS entered in:

April 15th - The Rallye de Jonquilles ( http://lagrangeauxdamiers.over-blog.com/categorie-...) in Northern France. 140 cars for a 1 day navigational rally.

August 4/5th - The Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend ( http://www.hebdenbridge-vintageweekend.org.uk/) - really just a car show but attracts some interesting metal.

November 6-9th - The 6th November Sun Run ( http://www.15-50ac.org/1.html) - 4 day navigational rally through France.

That's about it for now though I'm on the look out for something interesting to really stretch the old French girl...

I might have had a crack at Hebden Bridge but it clashes with Pickering and Croft.

Fancied the Windsor castle Concours de Elegance (sp?), partly because OH might enjoy it.

Most Ace Cafe classic car night (going to miss the next one for the first time in years 'cos it's valentines day)

I'll be attending the Le Mans Classic and Goodwood Revival in the Aston plus other AMOC & GRRC events. I'll get the HEaley down to some Breakfast Clubs and I intend to get the Tiv out more this year. No doubt I'll go along to the Windsor Castle Concours because it's local.

Was looking into going to the Classic Le Mans but can't justify the costs for a weekend !! Will work out to be £800-£900 all in!!

Hoping to make the Pure Nostalgia Mill Race Country Run this year, was fun last year. Possibly the Retro Car show as above (that the one in Rochford?).
A few other local events in Essex, plus the VBOA rally in Billing in July hopefully. Sure others will come along and I'll decide to go this year.
Without car, but planning a weekend at the NEC show in November too.

Wheels Day, Aldershot on Good Friday (tho' organised by a Hot Rod club highly recommended for anyone into any sort of four wheeled conveyance) for the Austin hot rod and later in the year the Nostalgia Nationals and Hot Rod Drags at Shakespeare County Raceway plus the monthly meets in Swindon.
Historic Specials (1950's specials meet organised by the Fairthorpe Owners and guaranteed to bring out some of our more obscure marques, previous years have seen Buckler, Tornado, Falcon and Rochdale etc.) at Burford in August for the Vincent plus lots of "everyday driving" and hopefully a Club Triumph driving event.
Back and forth to work for the other half's Herald.
And would be nice to do Caring with Cars this year as I had to pull out last year and only made the Sherborne Castle meet.
Plus lots of local stuff, general running around and holiday.

how do you work that out ?

ferry / tunnel £120
Entrance / camping / paddock can be done for £160
Fuel there & back ( 600 miles return in France @ 20 mpg ) .. £180
fod & drink .. you'd be eating & drinking of you stayed at home so this can be ignored

So not sure where £900 comes from !!

400 Miles Each Way @ 15 MPG (V12 E Type) = approx 55 Gallons Premium = £360
Ferry = £120
AA/RAC cover = £80
Entrance/Camping = £160
Total = £720
Plus Food, Drink, Tolls, etc etc.

Did the Mill Race run last year too !! Yes Pure Nostalgia at The Lawn - Rochford. These guys really choose their dates well, every time I have gone to one of their events it has been really hot and sunny, could do with a bit of that right now !!
