Aberdeenshire HOON 12th Feb (this Sunday!)
Discussion
Right as far as I can tell from the forecasts the weather isn't looking too bad this Sunday, about 8degC and dry, and I think we lot are overdue a hoon
Haven't got a route in mind yet but open to suggestions.
I'll suggest we meet at Westhill Tescos car park at 9:30am for 10am departure, say?

i have been thinking the aberdeen lot needed a hoon soon but for me im working this weekend. plus the car goes in for some minor things. such as an mot, new discs, new pads, new oil, carbon wrapped splitter, fuel pump wiring and new pump, horn, door seal, underfloor seal, service, maybe rear tyres, boost controler, so you know just a little one by noble standards.....
if im off though im not averse to taking the bad boy clio

Just a wee one, lol, boost controller?? Not a manual one I hope? There was one fitted to my car when I bought it and it upset the ecu's electronic boost controller that is already on as standard, it ran lean and cooked (cracked) the turbos and manifolds, both sets needed replaced a month after picking it up. if im off though im not averse to taking the bad boy clio

No worries, apologies for being such short notice, didn't expect to get a break in the weather this month TBH!
I suspect the roads around about Glenshee/Tomintoul etc. are still a bit crap so probably give them a miss although I wouldn't mind taking the MR2 up there
If everyone wants a shorter run we could head down north Deeside road, up the A97 (between Aboyne and Ballater) then to Alford or Huntly, but open to suggestions.

Possibly.
Fitting my pop charger on Saturday, so was looking to go for a bit of a hoon on Sunday anyway, but one of my mates who I haven't seen in a while is heading up for Saturday though, so Sunday may be a write off if the pub lunch extends into the evening.
Will give it a tentative yes.

Possible route suggestion - totally flexible of course if anyone wants a longer/shorter/different route.

Not sure about the quality of these roads, nor anywhere to stop for a burger/chips yet...

Right, errr....
... I took the Disco to my parents yesterday so my old man and I could fit replacement front mudflaps. However we've found out why the originals fell off - there's no floor where they're supposed to mount on to
Now the Disco has no interior and I'm now stuck in Westhill with no MR2
I could still meet up tomorrow (carless), but really need to get the Disco prepared for welding ASAP. Typical 20th century british car

As there isn't much interest, we could arrange it for another weekend soon? Perhaps phoenix/mazdajason could do a reccy run?

Can I put forward a suggestion for the 1st of April for a run round the Tomintoul route again. I will have the Escort back on the road by that weekend. Hopefully most cars that hibernate during the winter should be out and about by then.
