Forza 4 Unicorn Cars

I was scrolling through my achievments on Froza last night and noticed I have the one for outbidding everyone to win a unicorn car auction. The weird thing is that I've never bid on any car online, I've only ever bought designs and they're only the free ones(I'm a cheap skate)

So how did this happen? Anyone know?

It's got something to do with how well you did in Forza 3, did you have any cars in your garage when you started the game? like a Lambo Superleggera or a Veyron?

Some of those are Unicorns but also Level rewards from FM3, if you got the level you got the car in FM4, I have the achievement as well and it was the only thing I could put it down to.

On my other gamer tag I got gifted some cars for getting to level 50 on Forza 3, but this gamer tag I created just after xmas for forza 4 and MW3 only so no previous saved games.

Looks like it isn't just me then, the car I have in my garage that I haven't bought or won is an old chevrolet of some kind

Is it a '69 Camaro SS, and are you a VIP with the little crown next to your GT?

I think the VIPs get gifted unicorns and the regulars get high end normal cars every month as well, I'm not VIP but I was given the King of the Track Pagani Huayra yesterday and I believe all the VIPs got Ferrari 360 CS'.

Th 360CS should have been given to all those who beat the target time set by the celeb gamer, regardless of VIP status.

Ah, hence why I didn't get one then but I did post a time which must be why I got the Pagani. So is the Camaro SS the only Unicorn they've gifted out to the VIPs then, without having to do anything for it?

No, Mugen Integra at Xmas and the RX-7 spirit R as pre-order bonus. But I had one in FM3 and then got gifted 2 more in FM4 so currently own 3.

No, because it's not a unicorn and the above is a list of only unicorn cars.

You can buy the CCGT from the dealership for 1.5million

The term "Unicorn car" refers only to cars that cannot be purchased in career mode and can only be gifted or sold by Turn10 themselves.

The CCGT gifted a while back was just a freebee from Turn10 in a fancy paint job to celebrate the aniversary of Halo.
