after a year of ownership I am finally enjoying my 916.
The really good news it wasn't just me and turns out it WAS dangerous.... basically the suspension settings were all over the place (I did some of this) and the front tyre had been run flat and was deformed.
After a full service and a new set of Mitchelins its transformed so dramatically its really hard to describe.....
Needless to say it now feels like a bike I could get me Knee down on without falling off.

Basically the bike felt like the front end wanted to wash even when I wasn't remotelly pushing it.... I recon I'd have struggled to keep ahead of a ped, it was that bad.
The front tyre had been run under pressure apparently and was badly deformed...... have to say it's not the same bike I rode to the dealer on.
as for why it took me so long..... well after putting the suspension setting back to std I sort of made myself think it was just me rather than the bike...

I know exactly what you meen mate. After I had the blow out of my back tire on the dual carragway it really slow me down and any time i felt some movement of the rear tire on the road i felt that it was going to go again when really it was just me being silly.
I still feel as if there is a problem with the front end of my XJ600 but the mc mechanic has had a look at it and says its all fine but i just feel that it is movine or sliding or something.
Another thing I have noticed is that I need to put air in both my tires quite reguarly as they lose pressure rather quickly if i use it all week. Do you think this is normal?
Glad to hear the bike feels better mate, cant beat feeling at one with the bike.
Zen for bikers hehehe
