Hi all.

I went for a job interview yesterday and im quite confident that I will be offered the position. The only problem I have is with the bonus structure that is in place and was wondering what you guys think is the best way of approaching it with the employer.

Tha basic salary is between point A and point B, which I would be happy with somewhere in the middle of the 2, which I believe I can demand due to my experience etc.

The bonus structure in place however im not so keen on. Lets just say its 10%, I feel however to make the role more attractive and to make a fair wage that it need to be more in the region of 15%, ie half again. The difference would probably be a few hundred quid a month.

Now I havent been offered the job yet, and I might not be. But if I am offered it, what do you folks think would be the best way to put this to the employer without him saying stuff you ill find someone else.

Thanks for your help.

If the bonus isn't enough then ask for a higher base.
The bonus is calculated on the base figure so would then be higher.

Or ask if the bonus is capped, how it is calculated and can you over achieve and be rewarded on it.

Ask them. If they say no, decide whether to suck it up or not!

Was thinking this, was just wondering if there was a more tactful way of doing it rather than just asking. But then I suppose you dont ask you dont get!
