I picked her up last friday from the body shop front end respray and
n/s wing repaired and also had a new windscreen fitted, as the car was involved in a accident last august cat d so i bought her back from the insurance company and totally rebuilt the front end and here she is just need a mot and a vic check now, it was a lot of work but worth it in the
end the tvr grin is back nige.

Well done! The paint looks like a very nice job. Any kind of bump and we get written off these days. How did it work out financially? I assume the ins. co. paid you 70% of the value and then allowed you to retain the salvage. Did you manage to get her back on the road within that cost or did you have to dig into your own pocket a bit?

the ins.co were really good paid out in full after 4 weeks as it was not my fault, and i bought the car back for 10% of the full value so quids in really if your prepared to do most of the hard work u can save a lot of money as ive done,so yes ive come out of it well within budget nige. jwoffshore said:

RH let me keep mine for free, but then I guess that's all relative to the settlement figure/excess 
Mine wasn't on agreed value but they did pay the full amount I had valued it at on the insurance proposal (perhaps I'd under valued it?)
Anyway, your car's looking good ! hoping to get mine into paint shop by the end of the month.

the front wheel took most of the impact in the accident upper and lower wishbone arms were bent and the shock absorber, there was no chassis damage and there was some damage to front wheel arch, the guys at the body shop also did some other jobs for me i have used them many times before as i used to restore classic minis total cost £800 nige.Was there much work required to the front N/S suspension / Chassis mountings?
Well done Nigel, I'm really impressed with what you have achieved. I remembered your rather depressing post when you first had the accident and wondered if it would be the end of another S.
I know how hard it can be to keep the momentum going on any project (car related or otherwise) and you have turned it round in the matter of a few months.
Hopefully a few of the Bristol based S owners can meet up in the spring when the weather gets warmer and have a look at the finished article.
