hey up,
well i thought i would give myself a project to do over the christmas period, as part of my endless modifying quest. after some research all paths led directly to california for the parts, tarett engineering(erp) and sharkwerks(rss). i installed all the parts myself in my workshop on a two post ramp, all went on pretty straight forward really. i usually geo my own car with a stringline kit that i borrow from our teamboss craig(cwin). but this time my good friend mike @ sports & classic had just had his new hunter four post geo ramp installed to go with his full hunter laser geo kit. what an awesome bit of kit, mike spared no time setting the car up to my exact specs in a matter of hours. after the geo settings on thursday afternoon i took the car to oulton park for a trackday on saturday morning where i had a few cold but dry sessions before the snow came in. first impressions were the car felt ultra sharp & responsive. i will have to wait until the rs day in a months time for a full test.
many thanks to mike @ sports & classic for the geo work, and a special shout goes to neil fioran0 for the knowledge.. cheers guys!
most of the removed o/e arms & mounts ;

new hardware; rss lower arms, rss dogbones, rss castor pucks, rss mono-balls, erp rsr thrust arms, tarett spherical top mounts, erp bump adjustable front track arms.

installed;

lightweight bbs e88 wheelset for this season also... thanks neil!

That's lovely ade.
When you see it all laid out in the one place like that you really see how much is actually changed over the stock parts huh.
Cars looking great. Glad to hear its driving as well as it looks too.
Watch out folks on the RS day
Still have compression arm envy though
How's general road manners with it all on there?

With all that hardware its still not a patch on a MKII clubsport When you see it all laid out in the one place like that you really see how much is actually changed over the stock parts huh.

Yeah instantly felt the difference the moment i turned the key, the engine mounts are a biggee, i could really feel the full benefits on track altough it was a short session. The poise and precision feel through the steering wheel are now really on another level, almost kart like in responsiveness and feedback. Looking forward to a full days shakedown on some new slicks, and roll on the summer...
I would fit the rubber boots, Ade; salt and rose joints don't mix well. I did on mine & they're still going strong after 18 months & 35K miles. The rose joints used aren't the best quality (LN, IIRC) & I will probably replace with Aurora when mine eventually go. I know of another car where they all wore out alarmingly fast because of no boots. It's cheap insurance

Very nice Ade
Up in Scotland that stuff would look crap in about a week, I will be genuinely interested to see how it weathers.
Thought about something similar in 2010 but crapped out and just had powerflex/polybushes fitted all round, made a difference tho compared to worn throught to the metal rubber.
I would imagine the car feels very, very direct, like it wants to kill you perhaps?
Are you running any front toe out with this setup ? mine was set at a heartstopping 1 deg out each side and the car was simply to twichy for my nancy boy driving style.
Catch up at Oulton weather permitting.

Why would you set it at 1 deg toe out per wheel...? That would try and kill you?Are you running any front toe out with this setup ? mine was set at a heartstopping 1 deg out each side and the car was simply to twichy for my nancy boy driving style.
Mike
Ade is running 0.04 toe in per wheel on front and 0.15 toe in per wheel on rear wheels. That will give you some stability not toe out....

I have exactly the same suspension mods on my GT3 with the addition of 2-way adjustable remote canister Moton dampers. The car rides better on the road and feels more planted than it ever did on standard components. Because you are taking out all the compliance inherent in rubber bushes, you can actually run less aggressive geo settings. I run 0 front toe, 12 minutes rear toe and 2.25 degrees camber all round. Those settings give me completely even tyre wear on PS Cup tyres and they seem to last longer too.
