Do we detect some jealousy from a failed racing driver? I think it's about time he just came clean and admitted that he's determined to destroy silverstone. Perhaps he never won there (did he anywhere?).

His one and only GP appearance was at Silverstone for the 1958 GP, qualyfied 21st in a Connaught, didn't start the race though.

Bernie never qualified for a GP - ever. This was being discussed over on The Nostalgia Forum of Atlas F1 and apparently he posted 21st fastest in practice for that GP was was not listed as a qualifyer. He then withdrew his entry. It seems someone has beeen re-writing the history books again.

So his time wasn't quick enough to qualify and he threw his toys out of his pram packed up his handbag and left vowing revenge on Silverstone to this very day?
