For some reason I am finding it rather uncomortable - is there any way of padding it or something?

If I adjust looser - the shoulders will pop out or worse - any tighter and I'll be deformed

Harness pads (if not adorned with Lax Flower, Trevs or any other logo of that ilk) are completely acceptable!

I have OMP harness pads on my OMP harnesses and they make things a lot more comfy!

will try those and possibly wear some padding under the suit too?

I'd just use the harness pads. If you use any more padding, in an accident you may get hurt as the harnesses won't start to restrain you until the padding is compressed.

Found the nomex III was enough to sort out the additional padding required - was actually quite comfortable

If you adjust them right I find they are comfortable, tight lap belt seems to be the way to go...
